Masada College

Masada College

Masada College in St Ives was one of 30 New South Wales schools selected to participate in the pilot of Yarnup, an educational program that encourages closer contact between young Australians and their local Indigenous communities. Since that time it has been committed to Reconciliation work at each year level.

The school’s Early Learning Centre has resources and activities wound throughout its curriculum, including regular Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander visiting educators. It has a long-term relationship with Aboriginal Heritage House, and an annual week with Narragunnawali: Reconciliation in Education.

Reconciliation Week and NIADOC Week are serious undertakings at Masada, with multiple elements from assemblies and performances to fundraisers. The school’s Gold Duke of Edinburgh Students go on annual ranger-lead excursions to Uluru.
